Top Five Best Value Android Tablet PC Devices For Xmas 2014 At Low Cost
Five Low-Cost Tablet PC's For Xmas 2014
NOTE: UK Prices are listed.
Are you looking for a cheap alternative to Apple's iPads or other top-brand Android devices this Christmas, 2014?
Well, you'll be pleased to know that there are actually quite a wide variety of tablet PC's available at the fraction of the cost of an Apple iPad or Google Nexus.
The Senua ePad 7-inch for example.
This Android device provides strong functionality, responsiveness and quality at less than a third of the price of an 8GB Nexus 7. The Senua ePad has a 7-inch screen, capacitive touchscreen and in addition to the 1.2GHz A8 processor it has a separate dedicated 400MHz graphics processor to cater for 3D gaming that works in conjunction with the 500MB of RAM. In addition, the device features a built-in microphone and front-facing 1.3MP camera.
The 7-inch ePad is a bargan at just £59.99 from Play.com but it's well built and it's sturdy and actually feels better quality than Google's Nexus devices.
The Arnova 8 G2 is another low-cost Android device that provides a suitable alternative to the top brand name tablet PC's.
The device comes with a 1GHz A8 processor with 4GB of internal storage plus room for a MicroSD card for even more storage. The device, as it's name suggests, has an 8-inch screen and also has a built-in microphone although unlike the Senua ePad the Arnova 8 G2 does not have a camera, not even a front-facing one.
The only downside to the Arnova 8 G2 is that you will have to use AppLib instead of Google Play to download apps.
The Arnova 8 G2 is available from Pixmania.com for just £71.
For those looking for a powerful device with more processing power and graphical capabilities the Sumvision Cyclone Voyager tablet PC is well worth a look.
Unlike the two tablet PC's listed above, the Voyager has a Rockchip dual core 3066 1.6GHz processor plus, rather impressively, quad-core graphics. The device has 1GB of RAM (virtual memory) and a whopping 16GB of Flash memory.
Even more impressive is that the fact comes with Android 4.1 (Jellybean) pre-installed and the device also has a front-facing camera. The device also has a MicroSD slot for extra storage capacity and it has been pointed out in the specifications that the device is WiFi compatible and has the Google Play official Android Market pre-installed.
The Cyclone Voyager is available from eBuyer at just £79.99.
Although it's actually a brand-name device the Blackberry Playbook 7" has just seen a significant drop in price just in time for Christmas. However, despite the Playbook's high specifications the device is not Android compatible which is something you will need to bear in mind.
The Playbook comes with multi-touch capacitive touchscreen, an ARM Cortex A9 processor, 1024 x 600 screen resolution, 1GB of RAM and 16GB storage capacity. However, there is no MicroSD slot.
The Blackberry Playbook is now available from PC World for just £108.97.
Last but not least is the Zoostorm 3310-9506 7", a sleek and stylish looking Android device with a 7-inch screen.
Although the processing power of the Zoostorm 3310 is nowhere near the capabilities of the Blackberry Playbook or Cyclone Voyager, it does bear similarity to the specifications of the Senua ePad.
The device comes with Android 4.0 (Ice-Cream Sandwich) pre-installed, a 1GHz processor, 1GB of RAM, 8GB of Flash memory storage, WiFi and the device also has a Mini-HDMI output.
Although the Zoostorm 3310 is sleeker and nicer to look at than the other tablet devices listed the specifications are quite basic.
The device is available from Amazon for £83.50.
