How The United Kingdom Is Being Torn Apart... By Their Own Government

Updated on April 20, 2012

Internet Censorhip, WiFi & Homelessness, UK Government Corruption & Nuclear Power

Despite telecommunications companies BT and TalkTalk's recent appeal that the UK government's proposed Digital Economy Act contained elements that violate EU law, the courts rejected the claims and accepted the bill. Accordingly with the new legislation, ISP's (Internet Service Providers) will have to monitor their network traffic handing out three strikes to any customer that actively participates in illegal file-sharing. A penalty will also have to be paid. The bill is expected to come into play in 2013.

Then came news of the USA's proposed SOPA and PIPA bills which which added a whole layer of support to back up the UK's proposed legislation. SOPA/PIPA proposes legislation which will undoubtedly adversely affect freedom of speech and whistleblowing and combined with the UK's efforts at internet censorship it appears that they could be concerned about 'matters of national security' being leaked. Consider the recent take-down of WikiLeaks and the attempt to extradite Julian Assange, then the even more recent close-down of DiscloseTV - they are making a concerted effort to prevent information relating to national security being leaked on the internet. Regularly watch any related Youtube videos relating to certain subjects and you will notice that they are swiftly removed by TPTB.

Simultaneous to this legislation, new legislation in the UK has seen Housing Benefit being cut, people wrongly kicked off sickness welfare benefits causing them to become homeless with no income, including people who are already feeling suicidal and all of them struggling to find somewhere to stay yet they have no funding to pay a bond and one month's rent in advance, even if they haven't had their benefits sanctioned. The lack of help available via councils, hostels, bond schemes and night shelters is more minimal than you could ever imagine. There is practically none. Funding is desperately needed to get these people just a roof over their heads which is not much to ask. The Guardian reveals the shocking truth about the rise in homelessness in the UK. Low budget Bed & Breakfasts should be set up with the funding available, advice is useless without practical help and this is where I plan to step in, not only to provide a security net in the gap in the system but also to creat awareness of the government-initiated issues that cause such problems in the first.

But hang on a minute! How does all this tie in?

In addition to the censorship of the internet, there are plans to turn homeless people into WiFi Hotspots! Yes, you read that correctly. Turn a homeless person into a wireless hotspot?

It certainly sounds more exciting than selling copies of the Big Issue magazine which homeless people actually have to have the money to buy in the first place. The idea is that a homeless person will be able to attract a group of people. But where will the funding come from? Maybe we should ask Boris Johnson about the £5.3 million missing from the homelessness budget!

Is it really any wonder that the UK are being made homeless?? Here's some worrying facts:

* The average age of death of a homeless person in UK is 47.

* The average age of death of a rough sleeper in UK is 43.

* The number one cause of homelessness in UK is relationship breakdown, not substance misuse.

and the most important one:

* 32 People in the UK die every week after wrongly being kicked off sickness-related welfare benefits.

In addition bond schemes and homeless hostels are regularly turning people away and expecting them to be able to pay for calls to 0845 numbers which many mobile phone networks do not allow and are high cost from public telephone boxes. Now homeless people are to be turned into WiFi Hotspots to attract crowds but what about the file-sharers? Only Service Providers with over 400,000 customers can be prosecuted so they are providing a loophole around the new legislation!

Not only that but research shows that homeless people are already higher targets of violent street crime yet there are plans to provide them with technology to attract larger crowds making them even more likely to be victimized.

And what about benefits that homeless people are entitled to such as Jobseeker's Allowance? People making a new claim obviously have no money but new claims can only be made over the phone or online, not in person. Go online and their website gives you the phone number! The only other option is to download and print out a form, no different from attaining a form directly from Jobcentre Plus - but claims can no longer be made at their premises. Obviously, homeless people do not have access to computers and printers at their own leisure and given the fact they have no income cannot afford the phone calls either - it's an imprisoning system of manipulation that forces homeless people into a trap.

Their phone number is an 0845 number. Despite several of these 0845 numbers existing for DWP, Jobcentre Plus and related government departments none of the staff at the call centres seem to know which number you need to ring just to update your address which then makes the claimant look like the bad guy for not informing them of a change in circumstances and if they have been made homeless, they remain at a permanent residence according to the system. Phone one 0845 number and they make you phone a different one until they have racked up all of the money that you might have left to survive - this money is being raised by putting potentially homeless people, some of which are of ill health, through an even harder time whilst having no income and nowhere to go - disguised sadism at it's finest!

So, a large percentage of the UK population have been made homeless with no escape route, people of genuinely ill health have been kicked off sickness welfare benefits sometimes simultaneously (and therefore made to suffer hardship) and there is £5.3 million of funding missing from the homelessness budget thanks to Boris Johnson who is alleged to have spent it elsewhere.

And yet France and Britain now have a agreement to have nuclear power plants constructed all over the UK. Nuclear power?? At the Disclosure project conference back in 2001, former member of Ministry of Defense (MoD) Nick Pope testified that there were nuclear weapons secretly stored at a US Air Force base in England. How is it that USA and UK are allowed to be in possession of such weapons but won't let any other country have them? And shouldn't these funds be awarded to the priorities in society instead of developing technologies that could potentially kill all of us?

Well, at least they're getting solar panels out to go on the roofs of people's houses. That's something I suppose!

A major problem is the fact that any benefit claimant who has secured housing association accommodation via their local council is catered for and can have their rent paid in full. Tenants do not have to pay a bond or rent as they are on welfare benefits - they are given the high life. But if that very same claimant sought accommodation in the private sector they would need to pay a bond and one month's rent upfront which they obviously do not have yet it can take years to be offered accommodation via a housing association. Council tenants are given the high life whilst private tenants must suffer - why not steal from the rich to give to the poor instead of the opposite way round?

Whilst bond schemes do exist in UK, in order to provide those seeking accommodation in the private rented sector some sort of security for their landlord, only certain landlords (often landlords of private hostels) are willing to accept these schemes and are usually tied in with the councils or government in some way. Unless your form of accommodation is provided for, or at least somehow administrated by the government in some way, then you are left to rot on the streets. In other words, you either let them have control over your situation or be ignorantly discarded by the establishment.
