Natural Selection: Evolution Vs Intelligent Design? Or Both?

Natural Selection

According to atheist, Charles Darwin, and evolutionary biologist, Richard Dawkins, Darwin's theory of natural selection is a sufficient scientific explanation for the evolution of life on our planet.

So, can we conclude from this that evolution is indeed our true origin, or is this simply just an assumption based on the evidence of evolution but not evidence of creation?

Or does it perhaps somehow explain both?

Rather interestingly and considering the beliefs of many religions all over the world that believe in creation, recent archeological discoveries seem to increasingly indicate that there may have indeed been some kind of external intervention in the evolution of mankind by another intelligence.

In some religions these intelligences may be referred to as angels or demons whereas in others they may be referred to as extraterrestrials or interplanetary beings. Given the lack of adequate communication, knowledge and scientific understanding thousands of years ago, could our ancient ancestors simply have misperceived an advanced extraterrestrial presence and technology?

Could that be why there are so many ancient tales of Gods?

A civilization visiting Earth, who had been around to evolve for millions of years longer than the human race, would probably be so technologically advanced that it's impossible for us to even begin to comprehend what they could be capable of. Just think about where the human race on Earth will be technologically in just 100 years time.

Although Darwin's theory of natural selection accurately indicates the definite existence of an evolutionary self-mutilating, self-replicating gene, there are also a few gaps in Darwin's theory and one very strong missing link.

If Darwin's theory is accurate then this suggests that gene mutation is a natural part of the evolutionary process and therefore various mutations of all forms of life; mutants, depending on their surroundings and environment, would have been evident throughout history... but the evidence just isn't there.

Although some researchers have suggested that certain unusually mutated creatures that have been discovered on occasion, which seem to indicate some possible 'test' enhancement or mutation for future biological development in the process of evolution, these discoveries are few and far between and are not consistent enough throughout the evolutionary course of life on Earth throughout the ages.

Even if we take a look at archeology, paleontology, history and even biology, it seems that the evidence available does not indicate a consistent progressive pattern in the evolution of each species via a self-mutilating self-replicating gene, although the gene does undoubtedly exist.

Although evolution is undoubtedly a reality, as is the existence of the selfish gene, mutated creatures that have been discovered do not indicate any kind of dynamic mutation that would be of any benefit to their future survival and there is no kind of progressive pattern in those mutations.

If the theory of evolution is accurate then the remains should have been found.

Our scientists on Earth are now in the age of successfully working on projects like genetic engineering, which is one feasible explanation for our existence. If God exists and is an entity outside of planet Earth then this means he/she is extraterrestrial; alien.

Were Earthly humans engineered by an advanced extraterrestrial intelligence that many of us may have come to refer to as God?

Star systems like Zeta Reticuli have been around three billion years longer than us, therefore any life that may have started evolving there billions of years before our existence would now be billions of years ahead of us both technologically and spiritually. As aforementioned, several ancient cultures and religions seem to refer to beings that came down from the stars and displayed seemingly magical powers, including the bible.

Egyptian hieroglyphics and ancient artifacts show many startling indications of flight technology, gene splicing and even ancient alien astronauts. Many archeological discoveries, artifacts, religions, ancient scriptures and texts from all over the globe all seem to tie neatly together to indicate that there has been intervention from an external presence, outside of Earth, at some point in our history.

The fact may be that history as we know it needs to be rewritten.

Intelligent Design

According to the big bang theory, there was some kind of gigantic explosion, or similar huge event, that happened 13.7 biliion years ago. It is believed that at this moment all of space was created.

Created by who?

Or what?

Given that the big bang theory is common-place scientific knowledge, particularly in mainstream education, as is the theory of natural selection, both theories still leave us asking who or what caused them to actually happen in the first place?

And this is the fundamental question that every scientific theory leads back to.

Surely, our existence can't just be down to a freak occurrence that was never intended to happen, can it?

And if this is the case then how is it that NASA recently announced the discovery of as many as 1200 distant planets orbiting stars, 54 of them in the goldilocks (habitable) zone meaning they are capable of harbouring life? It's now estimated that there are as many as 16-billion Earth-like planets in our galaxy alone, the nearest one we know of being just 12-light years away.

Were all these Earth-like planets just the result of a freak accident too?

Modern technology such as the Hubble telescope shows us just a tiny fraction of the universe yet within this tiny fragment of the universe there are hundreds of billions of other galaxies. A German computer simulation estimated that there could be up to 500 billion galaxies, which would indicate that there is a galaxy for every star in the Milky Way solar system.

Given the evidence, it would be wise to assume that life, no matter what form it takes, is abundant throughout the universe. Life itself can take many forms, some of which may be currently unknown to man.

Some of the photographs available of creatures we know exist are stunning. Could all this really just be the result of a self-replication and self-mutilation phenomena?

Everything on our planet has either been designed, or has evolved into perfect design, with super-efficiency. Everything on Earth has it's reason to exist and is there to carry out a specific task. Bees produce honey, plants convert carbon dioxide into oxygen and flies eat waste. There is only one species on the entire planet out of all of them that doesn't carry out it's natural task on Earth and this race are the human beings; us.

Humans are so out of place on Earth that it just doesn't make sense. When studying our history it almost seems as though we came from somewhere else. From the age of the dinosaurs and on to domesticated pets that we have in our homes today, how many animals or creatures or any form of life is there that shares the human trait that we refer to as intelligence?

How many of them can speak like we can?

Sure, they can communicate and a minimal amount of them can speak but their communication dynamics are nowhere near as advanced or as highly evolved as that of the human race.

There's something different about us.

It's already common knowledge that several species on our planet have been around a lot longer than us but they don't seem to possess such a high level of self-awareness, intellectual capacity or communicative ability as the human race, although some of them may be flawless in other areas.

Birds have the capability of flight, bats have sonar capability and owls can see in the dark but even considering this versatility shared between these species, humans are still the odd ones out. We're not as natural or as gracious as all other life on the planet.

We wear clothes to hide our skin, we build monuments, structures, properties and technology. We turn our ideas into reality - a capability that no other animal on the planet possesses. Why are we the only ones with this trait?
